2020 Tech-sHAring Forum in Shanghai

On the afternoon of August 17, 2020, the HA Global Foundry Technology Sharing Forum, jointly organized by HA China and China Foundry Association (CFA), was successfully completed among the warm applause by audiences under strict epidemic prevention and examination measures in Shanghai Fuyue hotel.

The forum was presided over by Ma Shunlong (Secretary General of Automobile Casting Branch of CFA and vice general manager of FAW Casting Co., Ltd.) and invited Wen Ping (executive vice president of CFA), many leaders and experts of representative foundry enterprises, such as Sinotruk, KPSNC, Georg Fischer, Winhere, Shanghai Huaxin Alloy, Xixia Intake & Exhaust Manifold and so on. Wen Ping delivered the opening speech on behalf of CFA and encouraged foundry enterprises to forge ahead in the current economic environment by means of green technology and excellent casting quality.

At the forum, Technology and Application of Inorganic binder system for Iron Castings (Speaker: Kevin Shi – PM from HA China) which involves the impact of inorganic binder on the green sand and the application of water-based coating had evoked strong repercussions from the audiences. Solution of Centralized Amine Supply (Speaker: Chen Hui – from KPSNC) which many experts were interested in its innovative ideas had aroused a great discussion on many aspects such as EHS and cost investment.

Application of Coating for Brake Disc (Speaker: Liu Wenlong – from Winhere) shares the experience of practical support for the selection of coating from production of multiple groups of comparative tests and logical analysis. Powder coatings in the storage, cost, convenient operation has brought many benefits to foundries. Regarding the Advanced Development of 3D Consumables (Speaker: Tan Jian – PM from HA China), it shows the latest research results, the suitable binder system and special sand & coating for 3D printing, which means that 3D printing technology not only has the advantages of rapid prototyping, but also strides forward in the direction of environmental protection. The last topic, Study for the Significant Indexes of Reclaimed Sand (Speaker: Tan Jian – PM from HA China), points out that the conductivity is a very important specification for reclaimed sand by lab data analysis and actual foundry cases showing, which directly identify the effect on the bench life and strength of the core sand. It is hoped that Conductivity as one of important standard for reclaimed sand can be considered by CFA. The forum came to an end of the lively discussion and the further exchanges would be made in the future.

Finally, Ma Yanxia, vice general manager of HA China indicated that the challenges of environmental protection and resource utilization faced by the foundry industry today are not only reflected in the discourse, but also need to be realized through technological innovation. HA China adheres closely to the market and has a strong service team which can customize foundry solutions to the customers to provide the developed and applied product series which adapted to Chinese foundry environment. It is hoped that HA researches on raw materials and auxiliary materials can help Chinese foundry enterprises to the further development.
